Role of the Board:
We believe the Board’s role is to remain true to its mission by supporting and promoting American roots music in and around Madison, WI. The board has a fiduciary responsibility to the organization and, ultimately, to the larger community. The board will ensure that the organization secures the resources needed to accomplish its mission, vision, and goals and that those resources are utilized in a reasonable, appropriate, and legally accountable manner. The board functions as fundraisers and programming and receives no compensation.
Term:
The term of each Director shall be at least three years. Terms of Directors shall be staggered. The term of a Director begins immediately upon election.

Board meetings are scheduled as needed and run one and a half to two hours long. The meetings are in the evening and start in late August or September (post festival). In January, meetings typically are scheduled monthly and notice is given as far in advance as possible.
There may be minimal additional time commitments in-between meetings.
We encourage candidates to apply who have a love of American roots music and want to join a fun and committed group of people with shared interests.

The Four Lakes Traditional Music Collective (FLTMC) is a nonprofit organization in Madison, Wisconsin, exploring and supporting the art of American roots music. We are committed to passing on the diverse history, traditions and culture of the music and inspiring a new generation by creating opportunities for people to enjoy, learn about and make music together.
