Give the gift of music today

As you wrap up this season of gift-giving, consider a donation to the Sugar Maple Music Festival.

With your support the Four Lakes Traditional Music Collective, the 501(c)3 that puts on the annual festival, bring acts not normally seen in Madison and builds a community around music. In addition to the two-day Sugar Maple festival we promote a love of music throughout the year with our concerts, workshops and support of local nonprofits that foster a lifelong love of music in kids.

Sugar Maple is a community – and you are part of it. Your generosity helps bring people together under a big tent to celebrate something we can all agree on. Music!

Mark your calendar right now for our 15th annual festival on August 3 and 4, the first weekend in August at Lake Farm County Park.

Make your tax-deductible year-end gift here before the end of 2017. It’s easy! And thank you for being part of our community.

The leftover turkey is gone.

You completed your holiday shopping (ha!) on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

And now it’s #GivingTuesday, a chance to turn your attention to supporting the organizations and causes you believe in.

We at the all-volunteer, nonprofit Sugar Maple Music Festival rely on your support. Without it, we wouldn’t have been able to gather more than 1,300 people of all ages and backgrounds under our “big tent” in early August to listen, dance, learn about and make music together.

We also wouldn’t have been able to donate tickets to 16 other area nonprofits or to provide support to like-minded organizations giving the lifelong gift of music to kids.

And, of course, we wouldn’t be planning our 15th annual festival, to be held Aug. 3 and 4, 2018.

Sugar Maple is a community – and you are part of it. Your generosity helps bring people together to celebrate something we can all agree on. Music!

Our fundraising goal for today, #GivingTuesday is $500. Will you help us meet it? Yes? Yee-haw!

And thank you. It’s easy to donate right now.

Mark your calendar for the 2018 Sugar Maple Music Festival to be held August 3 and 4 at Lake Farm County Park in Madison. Our 15th annual festival promises the music, dancing, friendship and other activities you love, plus even more ways to celebrate this milestone!

While we’re at it, a big thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy our 2017 festival in August. The weather couldn’t have been better as we listened to music on the main stage, got to know artists and traditions on the Roots and Reasons Stage and made music together in the jam tents.

Speaking of 2017 Sugar Maple artists, Molly Tuttle was recently named guitar player of the year by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). Molly, who we also brought to Madison for an intimate show and guitar workshop in January, was the first woman ever to be nominated or win in this category. Congratulations, Molly!

On the topic of award-winning 2017 Sugar Maple artists, we heard from Laurie Lewis after her incredible August performances on our stages. In a note she said “it was a treat for me …. to sit and talk with Bill Malone (on the Roots and Reasons Stage)” then she added … “thank you for all you do to help build and nurture community through music.”

We think Laurie said it well. Thanks to all of you – music fans, sponsors, donors, volunteers and more – for helping build and nurture community through music. It takes every single one of you to help make our community – and the festival – what it is.

Sincere thanks for a successful 2017 Sugar Maple Music Festival. What will Sugar Maple 15 bring?

— The Four Lakes Traditional Music Collective

A benefit concert featuring Spare Time Bluegrass BandDavid Landau – Children’s Entertainer and The Bearded Hams in Tyranena‘s newly expanded, outdoor Beer Garden.

How is this a benefit? Well, Tyranena is donating $2 from every pint served to the Sugar Maple Music Festival… so grab yourself a glass and support great music! (And great beer, of course.)

Live music beginning at 1 pm with The Rodeo Wagon also on hand serving up southern comfort food such as corn on the cob, Triple Cheesy Mac, and big beef sandwiches!
